Geneva Night Out

One of the primary goals of LOVE GENEVA is to promote sustainable development in Geneva by championing locally-owned businesses and local artists. The well-being of Geneva is not to be found in the arrival of more big box stores, but in the growth of local merchants, artists, and entrepreneurs. To help achieve that, for the past few months we’ve been working with others* in the community to develop GENEVA NIGHT OUT!

Debuting on February 1, 2013, and held on the first Friday of every month from 5-8 pm,GENEVA NIGHT OUT  will be a free monthly arts and cultural event in downtown Geneva. Art openings, exhibits and showcases hosted by local businesses and galleries will allow citizens and visitors to explore the creative energy and dynamic range of local art in all its forms. Free self-guided maps will direct attendees to Geneva Night Out locations, spotlighting the various restaurants, boutiques, and businesses in our eclectic, walkable and vibrant downtown. Reflecting the guiding spirit of LOVE GENEVA, GENEVA NIGHT OUT will be bringing together multiple organizations from across Geneva, showcasing the extraordinary depth of creativity that our city has to offer.

As we’ve been working to put this together, the response from the local business and arts community so far has been incredible. If you are a downtown business that would like to participate, contact us! If you are a poet, painter, musician, photographer, dancer, or craftsperson, contact us! We’re looking for artists of all stripes.  Visit the ‘Participate’ page on the Geneva Night Out website to sign up.

(* Credit should go to Jim Meaney, the brains behind this event, but also to U.G. Artists and Stomping Grounds for helping to get this project off the ground. If you’d like to help out, contact Jim via the GNO page)
